Airspace closed after Russia's attack on Ukraine

Russian forces have entered Ukraine. There have been missile attacks on airbases. In such a situation, Ukraine has closed its airspace. The students who had gone to catch the plane to return to India were returned by the local administration from the airport itself.

It is being told that the Air India plane going to pick up the Indians was not allowed to enter Ukraine and is returning. Ukrainian security forces have also evacuated Kyiv airport. That is, now there will be no movement of civilian aircraft from Kyiv. The Government of India was operating special aircraft to evacuate its citizens from this airport.

The student who arrived at the airport has been stopped by the administration there from going inside. Because of this, they have to return to their university campuses and bases. The Ministry of External Affairs is working on how his return will happen in the future. Information about it will be given soon.

In an attempt to provide better help to the students in the changed circumstances, the officials of Chhattisgarh have reached the Ministry of External Affairs. Nodal officer Ganesh Mishra said they are reaching the control room. It will be an attempt to know from the officials here what the role of the Indian Embassy in Kyiv is. The plan that the Ministry of External Affairs will make for help will be coordinated.

Here, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv has not issued any new instructions for the stranded Indian students there. In their final advisory issued on February 20, the students have been asked to keep in touch with the student contractor to get updates on the movement of special aircraft. The students were advised to keep checking the Embassy website, Facebook page, and Twitter page. Students have also been asked to register with the embassy. In this, information has been sought from their institutions, residences in Ukraine to their states of origin, and addresses in India.
