WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to share their status updates on Facebook Stories without having to leave the app.
WABetaInfo, a website that monitors updates from WhatsApp, has reported that the messaging app is working on a new feature that will allow users to automatically share their status updates to Facebook stories, provided that the option is activated for specific updates. Previously, users had to manually share each status update they posted to Facebook.
Users of WhatsApp have the choice to select which status updates they want to share on Facebook. This feature is not mandatory and is turned off by default. If they wish to share a status update, they can activate the option from the status privacy settings.
The option to share status updates on Facebook stories can be disabled by WhatsApp users at any time, according to a recent report by WABetaInfo. Disabling the option would allow users to limit the sharing of their updates to a smaller audience. The report also mentioned the possibility of sharing updates on Instagram in the future.
Currently, the ability to share status updates to Facebook Stories without leaving the Meta-owned platform is still under development.
Recently, WhatsApp released its India Monthly report stating that it had banned around 46 lakh Indian accounts in February for violating its user safety guidelines. The report also listed the measures taken against the accounts.
