Microsoft has rolled out its Phone Link for iOS on Windows 11 to 85 global markets in 39 languages. The new feature allows iPhone users to connect their devices with Windows 11 PCs, which is a noteworthy achievement due to Apple’s restrictions on cross-product functionality. Microsoft had recently expanded Windows 11’s Phone Link capabilities to include iOS mobile devices.
Microsoft has taken a cautious approach in releasing an update, as stated in a post on the Windows Experience blog. The company received positive feedback after seeking input from users. Microsoft plans to roll out the update gradually to all Windows 11 users, with enabled users receiving the update by mid-May.
The Phone Link app eliminates the barriers between a Windows 11 PC and a mobile device. While the app has been available for Android users for some time, Microsoft is now introducing it to iOS users. With this app, Microsoft hopes that Windows 11 customers will not miss any important calls or texts while using their computers. Once enabled by the user, Phone Link for iOS will support calls, and messages, and provide access to contacts.
To clarify, if the user’s iPhone is not at hand during a work-related meeting or presentation, the Phone Link app will enable message notifications to appear on their Windows PC instead. Additionally, Microsoft stated that iCloud integration with Photos will allow users to access their iPhone photos on their PC. To activate this feature, users can search for “Phone Link” in the Windows taskbar search box. Android users, on the other hand, will need to select “Android” from the available options.
