WhatsApp has unveiled a global ‘Security Center’ page, serving as a comprehensive hub for users to gain insights on safeguarding themselves from spammers and unwanted contacts within the instant messaging application.

In an effort to promote user empowerment and safety, WhatsApp announced the launch of the ‘Security Center’ page. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the diverse safety measures and built-in product features that enable users to maintain control over their security. The ‘Security Center’ will be accessible in English as well as ten Indian languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, and Gujarati.

According to WhatsApp, safeguarding personal messages through end-to-end encryption serves as a strong defense against scammers and fraudsters. In addition to this crucial security measure, WhatsApp remains committed to continually developing new and innovative approaches to further enhance the safety and privacy of its users.

The newly introduced feature will educate users about the multiple layers of privacy offered by WhatsApp. It will also provide a compilation of essential tips to grant users greater control over their accounts. These tips encompass various aspects such as enabling two-step verification, recognizing scams, identifying fake accounts, and more.

In a recent development, WhatsApp initiated a comprehensive safety campaign titled ‘Stay Safe with WhatsApp’ in India. This campaign emphasizes the product features that empower users to assert control over their online safety, fostering a more secure messaging experience.

The primary focus of the campaign was to educate users about the safety features and tools provided by WhatsApp. These include two-step verification, block and report functionalities, and privacy controls. By familiarizing users with these essential safeguards, the campaign aimed to empower individuals and shield them from online scams, frauds, and threats that could compromise their accounts.
