The 43-year-old star of The Kardashians is slated to both produce and take the lead in the forthcoming female-driven comedy film, the 5th Wheel, as reported by Deadline. Notably, the founder of Skims has actively participated in pitching the comedy, showcasing a hands-on approach by attending every meeting related to the project, according to the same source.
Penned by Paula Pell and Janine Brito, the 5th Wheel has attracted bids from five studios. Kim Kardashian’s venture into acting is not a novel one, as the reality star made a recent appearance in the twelfth season of American Horror Story, titled Delicate, alongside cast members such as Emma Roberts, Matt Czuchry, and Cara Delevingne, with the season airing in September.
In her first appearance, Kardashian delivered an unexpectedly explicit line in her role as publicist Siobhan Walsh. She asserted, “Then tell the Daniels to suck my c—t. She’s not missing a press day for a f—king commercial shoot,” addressing Emma Roberts’ character, Anna, with the added declaration, “It is exhausting being better than everyone.”
Prior to her on-screen debut, an exclusive source shared insights with Us Weekly about Kardashian’s time on set. In June, the insider disclosed, “This project has been in the works for months, and Kim was thrilled to begin filming last month. It’s an experience of a lifetime, and Kim is eagerly anticipating the release of the final product for everyone to see.”
Kardashian disclosed her dedication to honing her acting skills by enrolling in acting classes ahead of her role in the series. Speaking at the 2023 Met Gala, she expressed, “You know, it’s a challenge [but] I like to challenge myself.” Before her involvement in American Horror Story, Kardashian had brief cameos in Disaster Movie, Last Man Standing, Drop Dead Diva, and provided her voice for two PAW Patrol movies. Additionally, she took on hosting responsibilities on Saturday Night Live in October 2021.
In addition to her acting pursuits, Kardashian is actively working towards becoming a lawyer and is scheduled to take the bar exam in February 2025. She has openly admitted contemplating a departure from reality TV to fully immerse herself in the field of law. Speaking at the 2023 Time100 Summit in April, she playfully remarked to her mom and manager, Kris Jenner, “I joke with my mom, who’s my manager, I say, ‘Kim K. is retiring, and I’m just going to be an attorney. So you can go help my siblings [and] you can still have a job.’” Kardashian emphasized her genuine interest in a full-time legal career, stating, “I would be just as happy being an attorney full-time and doing that. The journey just really opened up my eyes to so much.” She acknowledged the challenges of the path but expressed a willingness to dedicate more time to it, regardless of the presence of cameras.
