Lindsay Hubbard is embracing joy and friendship in the aftermath of her breakup with fiancé Carl Radke. The 37-year-old Hubbard recently joined in a group photograph during the wedding celebrations of her former Summer House co-star, Jaclyn Shuman, aged 35. These memorable moments were captured and shared by the bride on her Instagram Story on Thursday, September 7. Dressed in white alongside fellow guests, Lindsay beamed with happiness as she stood beside Jaclyn, offering her support on the occasion of her friend’s wedding in Portugal.
Shuman and Hubbard were both part of the original cast of the Bravo series during its debut season in 2017, alongside Radke (38), Kyle Cooke, Cristina Gibson, Stephen McGee, Everett Weston, Ashley Wirkus, and Lauren Wirkus. After the first season, Shuman chose not to return to the show. In contrast, Hubbard has remained a consistent and integral part of the cast throughout its run.
Hubbard’s appearance alongside Shuman marks her first public outing since her August breakup with Radke, as confirmed by Us Weekly. The former couple, who had a rollercoaster on-again, off-again relationship starting in 2019, had originally planned to exchange vows in Mexico in November. Notably, their wedding preparations were being documented for season 8 of the show.
Following the news, an insider revealed to Us that Hubbard was caught completely off guard by Radke’s decision to end their engagement, describing the situation as emotionally raw. “Lindsay is devastated and struggling,” the source disclosed earlier this month, adding that she has the support of friends and family during this difficult time.
The cancellation of Hubbard and Radke’s wedding plans not only has an impact on the couple but also on their invited guests. Another source informed Us earlier this week that the deadline to cancel reservations for the destination wedding had already come and gone, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.
According to an insider, the decision to end the engagement was a well-kept secret known only to the show’s producers. Very few of the invited guests were aware of the situation before it became public. The source mentioned that the deadline for canceling their hotel reservations and obtaining a refund has already passed, leaving many guests with the financial burden of the expenses.
Radke and Hubbard’s romantic journey has been marked by numerous highs and lows as they navigated their evolving feelings for each other. After initially being friends for several years, their relationship took a turn during season 4, which aired in 2020, but they quickly decided to part ways. Despite this, they chose to maintain their friendship and each went on to date other people.
However, fate brought them back together in early 2022, and their love rekindled, eventually leading to their engagement later that same year. Hubbard shared her excitement about the wedding planning process in an exclusive interview with Us in November 2022, saying, “We hired a wedding planner, which was the first step for me because I thought, the sooner I have a wedding planner, the less I’ll have to stress out. I’m hoping that by next week, we’ll have made a decision on the venue and a date. After that, hopefully, everything else will fall into place.”
